Texas Region Classic Car Club Of America

The dormant Lone Star Region has been officially closed out at the national level,  so a name change has been implemented for the North Texas Region.  We are now the Texas Region. As a result, our Region will now include all of Louisiana as well as areas previously a part of the Lone Star Region.  We will be extending a free membership for one year to all former Lone Star members in hopes that they will shift their membership to our region and continue to enjoy the benefits of the  CCCA Texas Region..

We are now The Texas Region!

A New Name!

Greetings from your new Regional Director for the new Texas Region of CCCA. Welcome to all of the new members from Central Texas and Louisiana who will be joining our region as a result of its recent expansion.

I am honored to have been selected to serve as the first Texas Regional Director. I know you join me in thanking all of our outgoing directors and officers, especially Bill Mott who has been an outstanding Regional Director for the past three years and served six years as Activities Chair.

I am proud to announce that your Region is in good hands. Five of our existing directors will be continuing in that role, joined by four new directors: Ryan Chambers, Charlie Gambulos, Frank Guy and Marilyn Schwartz. At our next event please welcome them to the board and thank them for serving our Region.

It will be my mission in the coming year to encourage all members to celebrate their cars’ classic lines and fine quality by driving them to club events. If your car is not currently road-worthy, winter is the time to get it back in operating condition. Your continued participation in club events is essential to maintaining the high level of activities and camaraderie that we have enjoyed for many years in this Region.

Our most recent event, the much-beloved but oft-postponed Not-So-Grand-Classic, went forward on November 7 at the home of Mike and Joy Ames. Despite threats of rain once again, the event was a resounding success. A record eight classic car debutantes new to the club were introduced by their owners who regaled us with interesting stories about their past histories and restorations. The lunch event was attended by over 50 people.

Unfortunately, we did not receive enough reservations for the 2016 CARavan to hold that event so it has been cancelled. Many thanks to Al Kroemer for all the work he did in planning that event. Many interesting events are being planned for the new year by Activities Chair Steve Chapman and the board, so stay tuned for announcements about upcoming fun events celebrating our classic cars.

Happy Holidays to you and your families and keep those Classics rolling!
